Cindy Brown has been a theater geek (musician, actor, director, producer and playwright) since her first professional gig at age 14. She is now a full time writer and has garnered awards for her short stories. This is her first full length novel and the second in this series, “The Sound of Murder” has already been released.

As the story opens, Ivy Meadows has landed the role of one of the witches in a circus themed production of Macbeth in a Phoenix, Arizona regional theatre. When the lead actor is found dead on opening night, Ivy suspects something evil is afoot. She talks her uncle, a private detective, who she works for part-time into investigating. The Macbeth theatre curse seems very real as others victim and Ivy endangers not only her career but her life before finding the killer.

One of the most important attributes of a cozy mystery is having a likable and interesting cast of characters. The main character is Ivy Meadows an actress whose real name is Olive Ziegwart. She works part-time in a detective agency for her Uncle Bob and has a handicapped brother. Of course the other actors in the production include many quirky and intriguing characters.

“Macdeath” is a fast-paced mystery that cozy readers and theater aficionados will love.

Five stars out of five.
